On the first day of my summer vacation last year, three generations of Rutter men attended the Sherwood Cruise-In. My Grandpa, my dad, and I strolled a thoroughfare full of classic touring, sports, and muscle collected from the best of the last seventy years. The Sherwood Cruise-In, now in it’s 25th year, is a major financial boost to this small Oregon town, and has activities for all ages.
If at some point the sadist in you cries out for a sacrifice to the automotive overlords, there’s an engine blowout event happening at noon. For flames and destruction and engines falling out of cars, that’s the place to be.
Do you have a kid who would rather play with the cars as opposed to just looking? There’s a kid's zone for the purpose of wrangling and entertaining kids while still retaining the spirit of motoring.
Now you don’t have to be infatuated with cars to attend. For those who want to advertise to a crowd of over 20,000 people, fanatics or not, there are options to advertise and be a vendor for your product at the show. If you’re in the business of cars, there is hardly a better time to advertise than at one of the largest automotive shows in Oregon.
As a kid of 17, I rarely have the opportunity to mingle with anybody who will give a kid the time of day. At the Cruise-In, there’s something for all ages, and anyone who loves cars is welcomed with open arms.
From Burnouts to Beer Gardens, for a fun, sunny, and car-centric day with an atmosphere of motoring, the Sherwood Cruise-In is well worth your time. It is guaranteed to be a memorable and entertaining stride through the history of cars.
The cruise-in is on the 13th at 22566 SW Washington St #101, Sherwood, OR 97140, and the schedule is as follows:
11:00 am Les Schwab Tire Centers’ Burnout Competition- Gravel Lot
Supported by Pape Rents and Pape Machinery
Noon Engine Blow- Gravel Lot (supported by Auto Haus Towing)
3: 15 pm Awards Presentation- Cannery Square Plaza
4:00 pm Car Registrants Exit
